ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Daniel Duty
CEO & Co-Founder, Conlego
Daniel Duty is an internationally known expert in the fields of negotiation, partnership building, joint business solutions and complex problem solving. He is the founder and CEO of Conlego, a firm specializing in these areas for retail and CPG companies.
Daniel built the Business Partnerships and Negotiations team for Target where he developed its negotiations and partnership strategy and implemented a variety of tools, creating billions of dollars in savings and growth.
Daniel has led hundreds of negotiations on every conceivable topic with companies from private label producers to Coca Cola, Hasbro, and Levis. He developed strategic partnerships creating innovative new products and solutions with organizations like P&G, Starbucks and UNICEF.
Daniel has taught thousands of businesspeople in the art and science of negotiation and partnerships at companies, business forums and leading universities such as Harvard, Berkeley, and Northwestern.
Prior to joining Target, Daniel negotiated on behalf of US Senator Paul Simon, the US International Trade Commission, General Mills and other organizations.
Rusty Wilson, CFA
Senior Research Analyst, Cleveland Research Company
Rusty is a Senior Analyst at Cleveland Research Company covering softlines retail including department stores, off-price, mass/club, sporting goods, specialty and online channels. Rusty also plays a role in the Market Research business, helping with the Firm’s Traditional Retail Council product and presentations. Prior to joining CRC, Rusty started his career at Saks Fifth Avenue as an Executive Trainee and an associate in retail planning and financial forecasting.
Rusty received a B.S. in business administration and marketing from The Ohio State University. He is a CFA® charterholder and member of the CFA Institute.
Scott Bender
Senior Research Analyst, Cleveland Research Company
Scott is the Senior Research Analyst covering the grocery, mass, club and dollar channels at Cleveland Research, in addition to Amazon. He has a background in finance/economics and leads the company’s Equity Research function for the channels described previously (catering to institutional investor clients). This includes channel research, report writing, financial modeling and client marketing. Scott also plays a role in the Market Research business, helping with product and presentations.
He has been with Cleveland Research since the company’s founding in 2006 and is a Partner in the company. Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from John Carroll University.
John Selio
Research Associate, Cleveland Research Company
John is a Research Associate at Cleveland Research, covering the grocery, mass, club, and dollar channels, as well as trends at Amazon. As an equity research associate, he has focused on gathering insights on the retail channel since joining the company in 2016. Prior to joining CRC, John held positions in corporate finance at Ernst & Young and Materion Corporation.
John holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Miami University, and attained his CPA license in 2011.
Ben Metzger
Research Associate, Cleveland Research Company
Ben is a Market Research Associate at Cleveland Research Company. He is focused on gathering insights and expanding CRC’s coverage in the retail industry to find valuable inflections and trends for grocery, mass, club, dollar, and eCommerce channels. Ben was a former intern on CRC’s Consumer Team before joining the firm full-time. Ben holds two Bachelor’s Degrees in Finance and Economics and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Miami University.
