Since July 2022 Prime Day, brands have experienced serious inventory truncations at Amazon. Now heading into what is the busiest time of the year for many brands, vendors are sitting at 2-4 weeks of cover less than normal. Despite the slowdown in purchase orders, OOS and lost buy-box rates have only just started to deteriorate and brands’ promotional plans are still full steam ahead barring any profitability hiccups. In this report, we combine CRC’s perspective with brands’ recent experiences and expectations.
