eCommerce success fundamentally starts with buy-in from the organization and a team of talented individuals that can create a vision and execute on that vision. But how to put that into practice differs by company and can be incredibly challenging. In this session, we are proud to bring together several successful brands that have recently developed a strong eCommerce team foundation with a goal towards growing faster and more profitability. Key focal areas will include getting senior leadership buy-in, understanding where the eCommerce team should report into, and what new hires really moved the needle for the organization, among others.

Russ Dieringer | Executive Director, eCommerce Council | Cleveland Research Company

Russ is the Executive Director of Cleveland Research’s eCommerce Council, responsible for research, events, and advisory projects. Russ has always had a passion for digging deep into different industries to help his clients uncover new areas of opportunity. Prior to his role with CRC, Russ worked as a senior analyst at Parkwood helping manage private market investments.

Russ holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from The College of Wooster, and a MS in Business Administration from Simon Business School at The University of Rochester. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) charterholder.

Russ currently resides in Brecksville with his wife and son.

Scott SommersDirector, eCommerce Strategy | ShurTech

Scott Sommers is Director e-Commerce Strategy for ShurTech Brands, an industry leading manufacturer and marketer of DIY (Do It Yourself), and Home & Office consumer products under the Duck(r), FrogTape(r), T-Rex(r) Tape, Painter’s Mate(r) and Shurtape(r) brands. Scott is responsible for leading the company initiatives relating to building e-Commerce capabilities for the organization, including account management, technical infrastructure development, and product experience management. A 17 year veteran of the Company, Scott has held various leadership positions in marketing prior to his current role.

Scott holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Babson College in Wellesley, MA, a BSBA in Finance and International Business from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA and has completed the executive education program in Strategic Marketing Management at Harvard Business School.

Brad Callahan | Director, eCommerce & Creative Services | Spectrum Brands

Brad Callahan is the Director of E-Commerce at Spectrum Brands Hardware and Home Improvement Division, where he leads B2B and B2C omni-channel marketing programs while driving e-commerce growth and digital transformation. In his 11+ years with Spectrum Brands, Brad has held various roles within the marketing organization leading e-commerce, digital, social, creative, and business technology.

Before Spectrum Brands, Brad spent over 9 years with a Global B2B printer manufacturer, Printronix, where he held both offline and online marketing roles. Brad has over 17 years of Digital and E-Commerce experience having navigated through the dot-com boom (and bust) while evolving his knowledge and approach of omni-channel marketing strategies and tactics.

Brad graduated from the University of Southern California with a Finance degree and is an avid sports, travel, and food fan and a native Southern Californian.

Laura HylandVice President, eCommerce US | Henkel

Laura Hyland leads Henkel’s US eCommerce business for their Laundry and Beauty care consumer business units. Over her 17-year career in CPG she has held many roles from Brand marketing to category management and shopper insights to analytics both in the US and Globally. She is a lifelong learner and enjoys new challenges, so it was only fitting that she expanded her scope in 2016 to include eCommerce. Laura joined Henkel in 2005 after starting her brand marketing career at GlaxoSmithKline in 2001. She holds an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and a BA from Davidson College.

Sonesh ShahVP Marketing & Digital | Robert Bosch Corporation

Sonesh Shah is an experienced engineer-turned-marketer who is responsible for Brand Marketing and Digital at Bosch Power Tools in North America. His role allows him to rethink brand marketing in the digital age and build the corresponding digital infrastructure to support. Previously, Sonesh led the eCommerce efforts at Bosch in North America and worked on Global eCommerce Strategy while spending time living in Germany. Sonesh has also held roles in emerging market development, corporate finance, strategy and logistics/operations.
